🎛️ Abyddos Jukebox

Connect your Spotify

The music plays on the venue's Spotify Premium account, through a Spotify app you create yourself.

Your own Spotify app

Abyddos Jukebox doesn't use a Spotify app of its own: the app and the account stay yours, and Spotify's quotas and terms apply to your venue. Your Client secret is stored encrypted.

Create the app

Sign in at developer.spotify.com/dashboard with the venue's Premium account, then create an app: any name, API “Web API”. Under “Redirect URIs”, add exactly https://jukebox.abyddos.com/spotify/callback.

Save the credentials

In the Spotify app's Settings, copy the Client ID and the Client secret (32 letters and digits each) and paste them on the Spotify page of your space. Tap “Check & save”: the pair is tested with Spotify before it's kept.

Link the account

Tap “Link my Spotify account” and authorize your app. The account must be Premium, and a Spotify account can only serve one jukebox. The page then shows the linked account, its plan, and its country.

Check your players

Open Spotify on the device that plays in the room (computer, phone, or smart speaker), then tap “Check my players”: the device should appear, ideally marked “Active”. That's where the jukebox starts the music.

Unlink

“Unlink” removes the connection: the jukebox can't start any music until an account is linked again. Saving the credentials of a different Spotify app also unlinks the account.
